Pyramids in South Africa ?

To be honest, I've never heard of pyramids in South Africa, like the ones we know from Egypt.

However, there's a pyramid shaped rock in South Africa, but most part is below sea level and is located near Cape Town.
It may be an "interesting dive with big submerged rocks and swim-throughs. There are many big reef fish and abundant colourful inverebrate life", as CyberCapeTown describes it.

There was also some discussion on the Indiana Jones Message Board, about the fact that the Mayans and Egyptians had Pyramids, and if that by coincidence. There's also a believe that in other parts of the world there were kind of pyramids but that they have been destroyed.

BTW. There is one pyramid in Europe, and well known by ancient art lovers, namely the pyramid at the Louvre museum in Paris, France.
In Java, Indonesia you've the kind of pyramid shaped Borobudur temple.

And in Johannesburg, South Africa, yes again, there a conference center named The Pyramid. Consisting of a 15m high pyramid structure, located in the center of Johannesburg.
Sa-Venues describes it as follows: "The Pyramid Conference Centre - a modern day Pyramid wonder. The triangular sandstone structure stands out against a backdrop of corporate buildings. The Egyptian theme however is not carried throughout the interior but with ultra modern touches in the form of high-tech lighting, glass panelling and chrome finishes. Two massive figurines support a sound and lighting booth, which is suspended above the Stargate entrance. A circular, revolving hydraulic stage, five metres in diameter, can be raised to a height of up to 0.5 metres. The latest in presentation equipment is available on-site for conferences and presentations, including motorised screens and state-of-the-art audio visual equipment."

So you can make quite a story about "Pyramids in South Africa". May be the story will be continued some day, who knows.
