Investment Survey

As Value Line® indicates, their Investment Survey is one of the most widely used independent investment information services in the world. Its up-to-date, weekly issues are also a extensive reference that has useful information for virtually every investor. In breadth of coverage it is encyclopedic, covering some 1,700-equity issues. Every week, about 135 stocks in seven or eight industries are covered. All of the approx. 1,700 stocks and 94 industries are updated in a 13-week period.

The Investment Survey gives each stock in its more than 1700-stock universe a rank for Timeliness™—, relative price performance in the year ahead. This Ranking System has proven extremely successful. While not every stock has performed in accordance with its rank, it is a fact that, in the more than 37 years that we have been using our proprietary computerized ranking system, our top-ranked stocks for price appreciation rose 12,505% as a group through December 31, 2002. That assumes trading just once a year. Stocks receiving our lowest ranking, on the other hand, have increased only 191%, says Value Line.
